Darren Easton
Charlie Team Leader

Darren Easton, joined as an adult recruit and served with 26 Armoured Engineering Squadron in Hohne, 48 Field Squadron and served in Bosnia, Northern Ireland and Belize.

John Natts

John Natts, joined the army in 1989 as a welder at the apprentice collage in Chepstow, and after finishing at Gibraltar barracks applied for 59 Commando, Royal Engineers passing the all arms commando course. John, left regular service in 1995 to study, and joined the Territorial Army. John served with a 71 Engineer Regiment, 131 Commando Squadron and the 7 Scots (51st Highland Battalion)

John is serving with 16 Medical Regiment as an RAMC Cpl, with tours of duty in the Balkans, the Middle East, Norway, Belize, Gibraltar, Falklands and Cyprus.

John works as a Motorbike Paramedic for the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Mick Hodgson

Mick Hodgson, joined the Junior Leaders Regiment, Royal Engineers in 1990.

Mick served with 53 Field Squadron, 39 Engineer Regiment, and 24 Support Squadron. Completed tours of duty in the Falklands, Canada, Cyprus and various stations in Europe.

Mick, left in 1997 and works as a Loss Prevention and Frauds Investigator.


Simon Brassington
Simon Brassington was born in Medway, Kent. It seemed like a natural progression when he decided to join the Army that it would be the Royal Engineers. Simon joined in 1992 as an apprentice soldier, studying plumbing and pipe fitting at Chepstow before starting his adult career with 8 Sqn 22 Engr Reg. A cross Sqn posting to 5Fd Sqn saw service in  Bosnia under both UN and Nato.

Simon was then posted to 35 Engr Regt 42Fd Sqn seeing another tour of Bosnia before leaving service in 1999.

Simon went on to join the Metropolitan police where he is still in service. His roles have included response officer,  Territorial Support (Riot Officer) before transferring to his current role on the Marine policing unit as a Boat master.
